Computational Intelligence and Data Mining (CIDM)

The Computational Intelligence & Data Mining (CIDM) research group of IT Faculty, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), consists of lecturers, researchers, Ph.D. and MS students. The purpose of this group is to collaborate with the group members regarding research issues in computational intelligence & data mining fields, asking help from each other, discuss about new techniques and to share the knowledge with others as well as the supports from lecturers. 

CIDM fields of interest are artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary algorithms, machine learning,  artificial intelligence, optimizations, business intelligence, and the related fields as well as their applications.

Researchers and Ph.D. & MS Students who are members of the CIDM group meet and discuss in a weekly seminar.

Data Network and Security Research Group (DNS)

Data Network and Security Research Group (DNS) aims to support education, research development. The areas of interests are communication networks, telecommunications systems, computer security, and other relevant research topics. By focusing on the research for faculty and graduate students to achieve a concrete result. Students are encouraged to build the ability to disseminate research results to the international level.

Grid and Cloud Research Initiative (GCRI – FInfoK)

“GCRI” or “GCRI – FInfoK” (Grid and Cloud Research Initiative of Faculty of Information Technology at KMUTNB) is a research group with the aims to instigate Grid and Cloud research in the Faculty of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. GCRI is currently an unofficial research group to allow for flexible operation. Driven by the need for higher computation capacity to solve complex problems and storage for massive data, organisations share their resources such as computing clusters in exchange for access to the resources owned and controlled by other organisations, thus forming the Grid infrastructure. Grid computing involves almost every discipline in computer science and information technology. Depending on your interest, it is possible to apply your expertise to Grid and Cloud computing.

 Preliminary Goal and Planned Activities

GCRI’s first primary goal is to train faculty staffs and students in the fields of Grid computing and Cloud computing. A series of seminars will be held. Day and time of the seminars are to be announced (1-hour seminars on Monday or Tuesday, weekly or fortnightly). A forthcoming project involves setting up a PRAGMA Grid site.
